About ScoBo

My name is Scott Bowen and I love advertising.

I went into college with the intent to get a degree in graphic design. Then a friend tipped me off about the Intro to Advertising class and I fell in love with everything that goes into it: the research, the strategy, the targeting, the collaborating, and finally the designing. I found that graphic design was just a small, arguably-not-as-important part of advertising. Advertising is what can give design its purpose. That’s when I applied for and was accepted into BYU‘s advertising program and then graduated in their management track. I was an intern at Y&R New York and there I knew that advertising account management is what I want to do full-time. I love working with creative-minded people and being in an industry where brands have more personality than a lot of people I know.

In this blog I cover ads and trends and campaigns that I think do a great (or bad) job connecting with their audience or using a creative new idea. I try to keep away from those ads that everybody else writes about. I’m always open to suggestions or “You’re way off”s or other examples I may have missed. Feel free to contact me!
